Greg Korn Architect in Southern California
Greg Korn first moved to Southern California in September 2003. Since his first visit to family in the region as a child, Greg has been fascinated by the space, light, form, and sheer vastness of the greater Los Angeles metropolitan area, and of the unique way in which its built environment expands into and responds to Southern California's geography. Greg began working on commercial and residential projects while employed at firms in Los Angeles, including the San Pedro Waterfront Master Plan as a draftsman / architect intern at EEK Architects of Silver Lake in 2004, and the Empire Landing Residential Community in Burbank as project architect for VTBS Architects of Santa Monica in 2006-2008.
Greg passed the ARE and California supplemental oral exam and obtained licensure in California in 2005.
He opened GKA's first Southern California office at 11780 West Pico Blvd in October 2008, and moved the office to 9800 S La Cienega Blvd in Inglewood in 2010. In 2015, GKA expanded into Ventura County and points north with the opening of the Thousand Oaks office at 351 Rolling Oaks Drive.
Most recently, in 2016 GKA moved the Inglewood headquarters to a retail building located at 1301 N La Brea Avenue in Inglewood, which GKA purchased with assistance of the SBA 504 Loan program and Chase Bank.
Since creating GKA in 2008, Greg and his staff have designed numerous commercial, industrial, and public works architecture projects throughout greater Los Angeles and Southern California. Completed projects include mixed-use, industrial, parks and recreation building new construction, and retail, restaurant, and office tenant improvements in Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Kern, San Bernardino, Riverside, Imperial, San Diego, and Orange counties.
